thoughts on blackpink: light up the sky netflix doc
- lisa in particular uses the highest loudest pitched baby voice ive ever heard which contrasts a lot to the voice she uses when she raps and even when she speaks english
- the amount of men (aka all grown ass men) in the room when these ladies who were literally teenagers watching them dance (suggestively) and critiquing them
- the fucken ABC grading system like what we do in school for all the trainees
- every single one was of them was like i love to dance/sing and/or play musical instruments as a kid but also like every kid sung and danced cuz thats just a past time that children like lol
- lisa’s grasps of languages is to die for. she speaks thai (native), korean and english pretty much fluently. she didnt even know korean in the beginning and had to learn it. her english has only a tiny accent but she truly can speak it. i wish i could do that!!!😭
- just that these girls who were like 14 ish when they had to leave their families and start a new life in a new country, learn dances/songs in the most intense way, and guided by money hungry strangers??? they spent their formative years being told what to eat, what to wear, how to channel their stage presence (sometimes really suggestively), made to perform for groups of men, compete against one another, and doing it for the HOPE of making it?? like hows that ok??? imagine the girls who didn’t make it?? like i hope they are all ok.
- their hairstyles as kids is so similar to the hairstyle i had when i was young haha but i think its just the limit of having textureless, straight, black hair. literally everyone swoosh their hair to the sideway part haha
- jisoo is so fucken mature and like handles everything w such grace. also they keep making her sound like shes so goddamn old when shes literally just 24 (like me!!!) she definitely doesn’t talk in a baby voice or like act super childish compared to the rest of the group tho and i decided i vibe w her the most. shes so calm and collected and takes everything seriously. a quiet intensity i think. love that for her.
- that teddy fella is really chill (and should help them produce more music!!!!!!!!)
- rosé is such a perfectionist and super relatable when she says she struggles w showing her work unless it was *absolutely* perfect. she literally hides everything until its right (although she still hasn’t released anything yet) and thats literally what i do haha i create fake accs/hidden folders of work i do because i am not ready for the feedback esp if its bad
- theyre all literally just in their early twenties i feel like they lived through so much :(
- the intensity that is performing at coachella. that was such a moment cuz american audiences are crazy and also super intense about their music and what they like. they were right that performing at coachella isnt like performing at their concerts-- coachella audience is a mixed bunch and dont have the same understanding as folks who love kpop and know the ~vibe~. im so glad we got to see the prep and the moment they got on stage. they killed it the first weekend but the second weekend was a bit less than best imo (i watched the livestream it cuz i was hella excited!!! i legit wanted to buy tickets haha but saw they were +$1k excluding food/travel/hotel 😭)
- they all live together!! their house is huge and cute af. some of my fav moments is cooking w my roommates back in college and seeing the ladies cook together and sharing meals is such a joy to watch 😌
- jennie speaking english to jisoo so jisoo can learn more organically
- jennie seems the most sad out of all of them. must have been tough growing up with only her mom in new zealand and then mostly by herself afterwards (with a host family) and then making the move to korea again and living away from home AGAIN. those things all happened to her as a child 😥
- jennie saying her fitness trainer is “one of the few friends that i have” oof
- my critique for yg is that they are treating them like marketing tools rather than musicians. they collab w so many luxury brands and do so many appearances/shows and are trying to break into the american music market which is fine but i wish that at its core its the music. maybe thats just kpop now and within kpop its the marketing element that is meant to sell and be sold and the music and dancing element is just that getaway drug.
anyways, this was a good doc to watch and i enjoyed it. its nice seeing so much behind the scene and seeing them grow and evolve to what we know of them today.

How To Enjoy A Very Quarantine Christmas
Tumblr media
Christmas this year will be a tad different but that doesn't mean we should give up the at  home Christmas festivities here are a few things you can do whether you are coupled up, with family or alone.
Decorate Decorate Decorate All The Way!
I don't know about you ( I'm sure this is true for the majority of Christmas lovers) the best part about Christmas is the decoration. The Trees, the lights, the music gah! I'm getting peppermint goosebumps thinking about all the possibilities.
Play with some ideas, get creative ! While this year you may be tempted to buy as everything has become an order in vibe this year try and make it fun by creating something yourself. It'll also be cheaper than paying for someone else's labour and you have bragging rights.
(Social distancing friendly version you can make it virtual and webcam with friends or family or a loved one while decorating.)
Tumblr media
Up on the Tv Click Click Click
Close  your eyes ( not literally because you have to read it to see it) it's December. It's snowing outside, you just come home from school and step into the entrance way, heat hissing. You remove all your things, put them away and scurry to finish your homework so you can catch "A year without a Santa claus" & " Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" on ABC family.(My age is showing lol) You finish up, make yourself a cup of instant hot cocoa the one with the marshmallows in it and make it just in time. Lights off, Christmas tree sparkling. All is well with the world.
Some of my best memories came from watching Christmas movies with my family. It's actually what I remember the most from all my Christmases with my family.  Creating a watchlist and marathon of your fav Christmas movies is a great start to get that fuzzy feeling again.
Tumblr media
The Sound Of Holiday Music
It’s Nat King Cole singing about chestnuts while sitting near your tree, it’s All I want for Christmas blasting two weeks before december, It’s holiday music. For some it’s nauseating for others it's pure bliss. There’s something about christmas/holiday music that just sets the tone and lays the foundation of christmas. Put together a playlist of your favorite tunes and enjoy.
Tumblr media
Bake Some Holiday Themed Pastries (I ran out of songs to model the subtitle after)
This part can be so much fun. Challenge yourself and find an interesting Christmas dessert recipe online and try to create it. Maybe it’ll be cute maybe it’ll be ugly, but most importantly maybe it'll be delicious. Make a competition out of it and challenge your family & friends to make their own.
Tumblr media
Celebrate Or Take Part In a Holiday That’s Not Christmas
Do you have any friends or family that celebrate a different holiday ? Ask and see if you can take part in the festivities as well. This year like the last several I’ve celebrated Hanukkah with my husband and his family and friends  virtually and in person. It was fun and educational experiencing a new tradition from a different culture. Though it may be different, the feeling of family and holiday are more or less the same.

Here’s the link to my website :) It’s still rough but here’s to trying.

Got Boybands?
Beatles, boys who cry, Boyz n motion, and big time rush has something in common and its not that all of them starts with the letter b, its that they are all iconic boy bands. boy bands been around for years swooning queens of all ages. Ever since one direction hiatus I thought boy bands were dead. I failed to realize that the boy bands didn't stop they are just overlooked so I'm here to point some out talk about them maybe help them get some more support I don't know.
I was going to save this for last but I will be distracted the whole time if I did. Prettymuch. woohoo! anyway my friend showed me "open arms" my attention was grabbed wig snatched I wasn't prepared for the beat to drop like that but it did so did my heart. I loved it. um, they make straight bops. from what I understand a lot of fans feels neglected by them. "where's the album" is a common saying by the BEANZ. BEANZ are the fans in the fandom. it stands for Brandon, Edwin, Austin, nick, and Zion. they are a pop group with a hip hop sound at times. all of them can sing. they don't always get the same amount parts on songs but all of them can sing. it was formed in 2017 by Simon Cowell. I'm going to try to describe each member of the group the best can. starting with Brandon Arreaga. born December 14th 1999. he is 19 years old (the youngest) he is from Texas. He is white and Mexican he is good just about everything. one of the best dancers in the group. my favorite vocalist in the group. he has a deeper richer tone in his voice but can easily go up an octave or two he is a sick producer. he seems like one of the leaders in the group. I think he sings the most out of all of them. it seems like he is constantly working on his craft which I love. he loves food. his runs are superior. next up is Edwin Honoret. Edwin was born Feb 12, 1999. he is from the Bronx. he is Dominican. first thing to come in mind is fashion. don't get it twisted they all got style but with Edwin its evident that fashion is his thing. he seems positive most of the time putting out positive messages through social media. sports is not his thing but skateboarding is. he has a higher tone of voice but not the highest pitch in the group. next is Austin porter. born Aug 14, 1997 in North Carolina. This 21 year old (oldest) is lit. he always seem to be energetic and upbeat. he paints a lot . he gets the least amount of singing time but he is a great singer . he has a deeper tone of voice as well. he likes rapping. he seems to be very family oriented. all of them do but I notice it more with Austin. he seems very talkative and could relate with just about anybody. Nick Mara is up. he is also 21. he was born Nov 8,1997 in new jersey. he is the best dancer. has the highest tone voice. he seems the most serious out of everybody but stills jokes around. he has crazy shoe game. he's just suave. last one is Zion Kuwonu. born June 29,1999. he is Canadian. he is tall. loves Fortnite. he probably the second most amount of times. I think he is talked about the most in the fandom. prettymuch symbolizes quality to me. things take time with this group. they have 13 songs but you can bump to all of them. their lyrics are great, all of them can dance, they have a hip hop feel to them, and their music is constant. I feel like their motto is quality over quantity and out of all of them I feel like they have the best chance to really break out. my favorite released song is healthy.(they have a bunch of unreleased music) my least favorite is Jell-O. don't get it twisted Jell-O is still a bop but not "the" bop. BLiND is their most recent bop released(01/25/19). that song slapped video made the song even better. I honestly didn't know that was possible but they proved me wrong. I like blind because everybody did their thing and everybody vocals had a shinning moment. also the video was an aesthetic within its self. their first song released is would you mind(07/21/17)
next group is why don't we. I don't know why don't we as well but they seem like more on the quantity side. I say this because they have the most amount of songs out of all of the boy bands but not all of them are bangers in my opinion. I feel like most of my friends cant get into them because they do occasionally have a childish sound and their songs don't have as much depth as other artist do. what I mean by this is a lot of their songs are repetitive and the only thing is different about them is the new person singing the same verse. they also cant dance, but here are the reasons why you should give them a chance. they are very stylish, they voices are very distinctive, and they have one of the best melodies when its a banger. the group started in 2016 and consist of jack Avery(19), Corbyn Besson (20), Jonah Marais (20), Daniel Seavey (19), Zach Herron (17).their fans are called limelight I want to know why but I don't know maybe something dealing with the first song taking you. the childish sound songs are like trust fund baby and these girls. 8 letters was the first song I heard by them (jack Avery stood out to me for some reason). my friend was talking how she couldn't get into them so I decided to do my research. 8 letters was decent but I had to see if they had more hits and they do but I had to dig deep. talk(fell in love with Daniel), something different(loved the beat and video was sick), into deep (fell in love with Zach's voice and the melody was nice), nobody gotta know (started to appreciate Zach even more and all to them together and melody was clean as well), choose (I loved it gave me 00s' Justin Timberlake vibes the beat was great and the melody was another hit), why don't we just (was a decent song seemed really repetitive but it was catchy), invitation (had a r&b feel to it was catchy and the video was funny), words I didn't say (it was cute), turn it off ( the melody was good), made for( I loved the beat and it was cute). I think they have 40 songs don't quote me. their latest song was big plans which was a banger released (01/16/19). their first song released was taking you (11/25/16)
next group is in real life. the were the winners of ABCs 2017 tv music contest boy band. the group consist of chance Perez(21) Brady Tutton (17) Michael Conor(19) drew Ramos (21) Sergio Calderon(18). All of their songs are catchy and has the typical pop boy band sound but with a . they have 7 released songs including 2 Christmas songs.one thing different about this group is that Michael Connor can rap. my favorite song is how badly and my least favorite is probably got me good (their most recent song released 09/06/18) its still a good song though. their first song released was eyes closed released 08/25/17.
4th ave consist of Mikey Jimenez (19), Marcus Pendleton(18), Jaden gray (17), cam Jackson (20) who all compete individually on the sow boy band with the members of in real life. all of them can really sing. their runs are crazy but I feel like cam and Jaden mastered them the best and Jaden has a wider range. this group pop/r&b group. Jaden and Marcus are my favorite because Jaden just seems very confident and its cool plus his vocals are mental, Marcus because he like the homie he can get lit but he seems like a chill guy who cracks jokes.4th ave can dance , its not extreme like prettymuches but its way better than why don't we or the other bands. they have 12 songs and a fire interlude including 5 holiday songs. my favorite song is probably 4 u(honestly all of their songs was my favorite at least once). my least favorite is probably exit. their first song released was xoxo (02/8/18) and their latest song released is us (01/25/19).
the next group is cnco. they are a latin boy band who are from the show called la banda (executive produced by Simon cowell). the group includes Joel pimental(19), Erick Brian colon (18), Christopher Velez Munoz (23), Richard Camacho (22), Zabdiel de jesus (21). i think they have 45 songs including the remixes. tan facil is their first song released (01/29/16) and their latest song released was hey dj the remix (11/9/18). Mala actitud id my favorite and mas alla is my least favorite.
new hope club is the next group. this band is a pop British trio. Blake Richardson(19),George smith(19),and Reece Bibby(20).
they have 14 songs. fixed being the first(05/05/17) and permission being the latest(02/01/19). i love their music and their feel. they have nice vocals and their songs has a vintage sound to it with rock tendencies. crazy is my fav amd tiger feet is my least favorite.
next town down is the next group on the list. NTD is a an r&b group with Malik Knighten(19), Terence Thomas (24), Trevon Water(22), Chris Louis(21),and Leon Outlaw jr(16). they have 8 songs but they spoil us with covers on youtube. their first song released was easy (05/11/18) my favorite song of theirs will have to be easy and the least is kissin on.
the last final group i will be mic lowry. they are a r&b band from liverpool. Delleile Ankrah, Akia Jones, Kaine Ofoeme, Ben Sharples, and Michael Welch embodies old school r&b with new school flare. They were formed 2011. tuxedo is their first song released 05/18/15. their latest song is Tesla 10/19/18. they have 16 released songs.

i finished watching Love, Death and Robots last night, and holy shit it was good. i love a lot of the episodes but my favs were Sonnie’s Edge, Three Robots, Good Hunting, and Zima Blue.
i’d LOVE for all of those eps i mentioned be feature films, especially Good Hunting, since i felt it was an incredible mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and culture/gender/class rebellion all done in gorgeous 2D animation. i also appreciated that good hunting was a take on steampunk that i haven’t seen in pop culture before, though i could be mistaken.
it reminded me of The Abc’s of Death mixed with The Twilight Zone, Ghost of the Shell, The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, V/H/S, and Aeon Flux. I read some people were comparing it to Black Mirror, which I haven’t watched (only seen clips from the social media points system and memory/sight recording eps if i remember correctly), but i think this series is way better. I have no desire to watch Black Mirror, since it gives me the vibe of one of those “all technology is bad” things, but i could be wrong. Love, Death and Robots is so much more, and im so glad I watched it.
i hope there’s a part 2 to this series, or another one like it, maybe with a different set of themes. though given the broad concepts of love/death/robots, i think they were all mostly unique and interesting. i like that they all didnt have each one, you know they weren’t alll about love and death and robots, but those that did were still excellent.
the only thing i didn’t like was the very realistic animated episodes all felt very similar. and i know, yeah, when realism is their goal they will probably look super similar, but it just made me wish they were less so. they were impressive, and i like that animation has come so far that such a level of realism is achievable, but they just looked like so many video game cut scenes one’s sees all the time. If they had been more like Sonnie’s Edge or The Dump i wouldve liked it better, especially considering there was live-action/CGI episodes to compare them to.
another thing i noticed is that some episodes (to me) felt very similar in their concepts or tone, rather than style. and its not the fact that they’re all relating to love/death/robots, but that they just used the same genre tropes. this isn’t a bad thing, since it showed how much you can push those tropes to be unique, i guess its when you put them together in a series one starts to notice them. for example, Suits and The Secret War were both about a group of people fighting off a huge amount of scary, otherworldly creatures to protect their homes/families. But, that’s where their similarities ended.
in general i really liked this series!!! like i said, i hope Netflix produces (idk what they do exactly for their “originals”) more in the same vein as Love, Death and Robots. maybe one thats more heavy on fantasy?

Anon Asks - OUAT’s Future
I got busy at work right after the Channing Dunghey interviews started breaking, and the asks piled up a bit, so instead of answering each individually I’ll answer some under the cut
@beka1820 said: One things for certain, Adam is going to be hearing about it tonight on Twitter!!!!!
Oh Beka, I don’t even want to look at his mentions. I’m sure they are crazy, the thing is I don’t know what people might expect him to say.
The show hasn’t been renewed, so he can’t make any reassurances on that score.
He can’t contradict anything the network President might have said, even if he thinks there was something to contradict or correct or clarify.
If the show is renewed they won’t know their exact plans yet, and even if he did he wouldn't comment on them or give reassurances about any of the cast or their future on the show.
To that end, if Robert Carlyle is really leaving at the end of this season, he’s not going to announce that in January on twitter.
Have Colin and Jen said if they're doing season 7? I can't watch this show without the both of them on it
Me either! ;)
The show hasn’t even been renewed for a S7, so, no, the actors haven’t confirmed they are doing it.
However, I take it as a very good sign that both Colin and Jen retweeted the article about A&E having good ideas for a S7, it feels like they’re promoting it because they have a vested interest, which they wouldn’t if they planned on leaving.
Maybe the "new direction" will be a Storybrooke without Regina? And maybe they will actually have to kill her off at the end of S6 to fulfill the end of her arc? I have zero idea if this is a viable possibility, but wouldn't that be interesting?
Oh, hell yes, this would be interesting.
Can you imagine a Regina-less show?  No whining or hypocrisy? Wow, that would be amazing and I would love it if the character died. Even if it was heroic and she was saving Henry or something. That would be poignant.
However, i think it’s far more likely that Robert Carlyle is leaving and Rumple will be gone, so its hard to believe they’d have both Rumple and Regina exit stage right at the same time.
Anonymous said:You think Ginny & Josh might leave the show? After Robert, those two are the ones I feel like would leave next.
Robert’s interview the other day combined with this?  Yeah, he’s a goner.  My guess is that when A&E pitched to ABC they previewed RC leaving and the show giving closure to his storyline and the mythology that has fueled the show for 6 years, and injecting new blood into it.
As for Ginny and Josh. Yes, I think it is a possibility that they could leave.  There doesn’t seem to be much story for them. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked to hear they are going on recurring status.  Perhaps to make guest appearances here and there. Who knows, I have nothing to base that on, just something I could see happening based on which characters I think the show could stand to lose.
Anonymous said:Oh god that article sounds like we're about to go full steam ahead into fanservice or fanon land. I feel so apprehensive right now. I don't like the sound of this at all.
It sounds nothing of the sort. Come on. Take a breath and think critically about what the show is and what it might become.  I won’t repeat everything I said in this post here, but I stand by all of it.
This is not about fanon or ships or doing something crazy, it’s about giving the current characters their due, while also trying to keep the universe of Once Upon a Time alive.
Anonymous said:I kind of don't love the idea of a new characters coming in. It feels like our faves already have to fight for screentime as it is right now. Bringing in new characters means something new and shiny for the writers to focus on. Sorry, being pessimistic right now. I do have to say, I LOVE the picture that was used for that article.
I love the picture too!  We know which duo gets the most clicks! Our favs!
The truth is that the story of our favs is winding down, probably no matter what. So, to me, a little is better than none.
At this point, my assumption is that Robert and Emilie will be gone and maybe a few others which should free up some screen time.
Time will tell.
Anonymous said: Please don't let this new direction or reset mean SQ. I hate that that thought even enters my brain, but season 6 has put a really bad taste in my mouth and left me very unnerved.
Don’t be silly. I really don’t understand how S6 (CS moving in together, working as a team, Henry accepting Hook as a father figure, Emma going to therapy and realizing what she really wants is to move forward with Hook, Emma watching Hook with I-want-that-man-to-father-my-children heart eyes as he entertains a little girl, looking out for each other’s best interests, tender moments of encouragement and forgiveness where it’s clear that they know each other better than anyone, and can get through to each other better than anyone) makes you unnerved.
What am I missing?
Honestly, there’s no reason to worry from a shipping perspective..  Click here to read my take on what a reset means.
Anonymous said:"heading for its biggest reinvention yet as the show’s main storyline comes to an end this season. “There will be a little bit of closure in this particular narrative regardless of what happens with Season 7." Okay now I'm really scared. Like really scared. I don't like how this sounds, especially after such a lame first half of the season.
I actually don’t think the first half was that bad. It wasn’t great, but I honestly can’t think what was so bad about it that it make you “really scared.”  You’ll have to tell me what you’re scared about specifically.
Oh god this talk of reset buttons and a new narrative direction and cast leaving is scary. Reset button? That sounds like ruining what they've built so far. I don't like this articles vibe. I really don't. I'mean concerned.
Really?  Read this. Especially the quotes from A&E in the podcast I diligently transcribed for you. ;) That is what they’re thinking. Keeping the show going, but giving the current characters closure and payoff. That doesn’t sound like ruining what they’ve built so far.
That sounds like ending the current stories some time in S7 (which probably means a big send off and happily ever after for CS) while handing the baton to a new batch of characters.
What do you make of the new article out by EW just now and ABC president saying on the OUAT season 7 aspect and narrative?
It’s probably obvious what I think by now, but I think it’s 100% about Robert Carlyle leaving and the show preparing for this:
Interviewer: So we’ve seen a lot of showrunners writing to an end date is that something you have in mind for Once or do you see it going as long as it can?
Eddy: Well I think you know for us there is an end date for stories and characters, but I do also think it’s a show as we said we reinvent every year so at a certain point we do know these character need closure, you know? So we have that in mind and when it is we’ll let you know first.
Interviewer: It also depends on availability of actors eventually and because like you guys mentioned you could keep introducing-
Eddy: Forever
Interviewer: stories forever, exactly.
Adam: Yeah and I think one of our hopes for the show is to be able to provide satisfying closures for these different characters and if some stay or we hand it off to others like we think the world of Once Upon a Time can continue.
Eddy: You know for us I think one of the inspirations was Wonderful World of Disney at 8. To us that is a lot of what this is. So at a certain point Emma needs her happy ending or not happy ending or her closure, but that doesn’t mean the town can’t continue.
